~About This Piece
This work honors the Muse of creation — where beauty, wisdom, and imagination converge in transformative expression.
Sixth in The Oracle of Feathers series, this piece honors the alchemy of creation — where beauty, wisdom, and imagination converge in transformative expression. A crowned painted bunting perches atop a glass jar filled with water, the sacred element that cleanses, prepares, and awakens the artist’s brush. Dipped in and out of the water, the brush emerges coated in gold, each stroke transforming raw intention into luminous form. Beside the jar rests a broken golden egg, its shell split open to reveal the shimmer of new beginnings — the fragile, necessary rupture that allows creation to take shape. A golden skeleton key lies nearby, symbolizing access to hidden realms, inner truths, and the locked chambers of inspiration. Together, these elements form a ritual tableau: water as purifier, gold as manifestation, the egg as emergence, the key as revelation, and the crowned bird as the joyful keeper of creative magic.
This is creation as sacred practice — a moment where the artist becomes the oracle, and every stroke becomes a spell.
